For each player, a set of starting chips will be placed on the table. These chips will be removed from the table when they are no longer required.
The first player to the left of the dealer is the first to put in a bet. This is called the big blind. The player to the left of the big blind can raise, fold, or call.
In Texas Hold’em, the small blind is typically half of the value of the big blind. Players who are not in the game may also take a small amount of money out of the pot to make side bets.
The blinds are forced bets that two players must place before each round. The big blind and small blind are the only two bets that a player can make before the cards are dealt.
The cards are dealt clockwise from the big blind. Each player receives all of their cards before the cards are dealt to the next player.
The hand is dealt in order to give each player a chance to act. Each player must print out their Full Name and Member ID# on a sign-in sheet.
The second betting round begins with the player to the left of the dealer. The dealer button is the directional indicator that the dealer will deal cards. The dealer button rotates clockwise after every hand.
